I love photography, and I love shoes, but until I started taking pictures while I was shopping I didn't realize how many women shared the intensity of my personal experience.
Some can make the decision alone, and some seek the advice of a friend, a salesperson, or even strangers. The process eradicates all else that is going on, and the shoe department itself becomes a hallowed place wherein a magical transformation occurs.
To make my pictures, I wander among the women shooting from the hip so they won't notice me, as if I were one of them. Of course, in reality, I am.
