The stark contrast of white light against black intrigues me. Wherever I find it.
This series began because I deactivated the flash on my automatic camera so I wouldn't take a picture and give myself away by having the flash go off.
I had the camera with me in a restaurant one night and took a shot of the candle on the table. I liked what I saw and continued looking for isolated sources of light. I've found them in movie theatres, carnivals, Christmas light displays, city streets and store windows.
